I received my radio license October 2nd 1981 and I went right on the air as the chief announcer at WSCC-FM. My show was called Rod's Rockpile. I was playing the same music then as I am playing now...only then...some of the songs we call "classic rock" were just "rock"! So October 2nd...36 years on the air.
September 9th 1985...I walked through the doors of this radio station expecting to be interviewed for any available job and I went to work that day...thirty-two years ago. I am still doing any available job here and I am so very blessed...having been doing what I love and what I always wanted to do as a career. My responsibilities have grown a bit from "listening to great music and talking to myself" but for the five hours a day weekdays I am on the air..."playing radio"... all the other "stuff" I do is a fair trade!
