Ann and Nancy Wilson - Heart

Rock Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson are in Rock and Rolls Hall of Fame for a reason. Heart has sold over 35 million records worldwide, including approximately 22.5 million albums in the United States. It has placed top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 in the 1970s, 1980s, 1990 and 2010s. Heart was ranked number 57 on VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock".

Stevie Nicks – Solo artist, Fleetwood Mac

No International Women's Day list could go without Stevie Nicks. Nicks was named one of the 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time by Rolling Stone. She is the only woman to have been inducted twice into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. With 8 Grammy Award nominations, she is an icon on the rock scene.

Janis Joplin – Big Brother and the Holding Company – Solo artist

Janis Joplin could sing it all, rock, soul and blues. Part of the psychedelic rock scene, she had an electric stage presence and was one of the most successful and widely known women of rock during her time. Even after dying of an accidental overdose at age 27, she has remained one of the greatest singers of all time. She was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.

Joan Jett – Solo artist, The Blackhearts, and The Runaways

Dubbed the Queen of Rock and Roll, Joan Jett paved the way for women in hard & punk rock. She is also among the list of ladies who have been into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,

Chrissie Hynde – The Pretenders
