Taylor Swift easily earned the title of highest paid musician of 2016, raking in $170 million dollars according the annual list from Forbes. That makes her not only the highest paid musician, but the highest paid celebrity of the year. She was $60 million ahead of One Direction who came in 2nd with $110 million. Adele came in 3rd earning a cool $80.5 million.
Taylor Swift was able to top everybody thanks to a record-setting North American tour, which helped fuel sales of her album 1989, and multiple 7-figure endorsement deals.

When ranking celebrities for their yearly list Forbes looks at pretax income from June 1, 2015, to June 1, 2016 and then deducts management fees.
