#tbt Broken Glass 1981

One of many bands I was in growing up was Broken Glass. The Summer of '81...these four lads pictured played some local gigs that are still remembered by those in attendance. I occasionally bump into people that were at our Shopville School show...or the Tateville Firehouse show...or the Tucker Shelter House show and they have good memories of our performances. For years we bounced around the thought of a "reunion" show. Unfortunately with the passing of our dear friend, Jonathon Thompson...that is no longer possible. I still keep in contact with Randy Haynes and just yesterday I stopped and chatted with Joe Dobbs. Playing in Broken Glass was a special time. Only a few demos and live recordings have survived. Unfinished recordings are forever lost from Larry Lovins' studio. Listening back on the cuts that remain...the music sweetens in time in my mind more than the actual playback reveals...but we didn't suck. I always admired Randy's guitar style. He is even more amazing these days. Joe...one word...WOW! Keyboards...Moog synth...bass guitar...a musician's musician. Maybe one day the three of us will get together and jam. Maybe...
