This guy works under the worst of conditions...tornadoes, lightening, snow, hail, sleet, heat, rain...rarely do transmitters go down during cool, pleasant days. James Mercer is our Chief Engineer and is on call 24/7. Sometimes his "day at work" goes into days at work. He is THE most valuable member of our team. Without him...we are not on the air. So the next time you see him out and about...thank him...unless he is working on a transmitter...then step back and leave him alone. He is doing something very important and potentially deadly.
