Years ago...my dear friend Jonathon Thompson was living in Indianapolis and he had a poem he had written that he wanted me to set to music. He sent me the poem and a letter telling me to read the poem and then record the music the poem inspired in my head. That is what I did. I recorded it on a little 4 track cassette recorder in the basement of my home at the time. Two guitar tracks, bass guitar and vocals. When I got it to where I felt it was complete...I made a cassette copy from the master and mailed it back to him. A few days later...I got a call from JT. He was very pleased with our collaboration. I could hear the joy in his voice. He said, "That is amazing" and I told him, "I know it is...I know the poet". The world lost Jonathon to cancer November 15th 2014 but his spirit lives on through his books, poems, songs and all our memories. Happy Spring, George! Hepatica are in bloom!
